We have strived to achieve parity with the 10 standards of Fair trade and this year we feel we have achieved this, as stipulated by IFAT, The World Fair trade Organisation. It is important to point out we are NOT members of this organization.  It is our philosophy to work in a cooperative fashion with our suppliers to achieve a well balanced business for both the suppliers, their workforce, and ourselves.

The 10 standards of fair trade are:

• Create opportunity for economical disadvantaged producers.

• Transparent management and accountability.

• Capacity building, to develop the producers independence
and improve their management skills.

• The use of honest marketing techniques in the production of
quality produce.

• A fair price for goods produced, through dialogue and
participation.

• Gender equality, we have increased this to ethnical equality
as well.

• Working conditions that are safe and healthy working
environment.

• Child labour, we do respect the UN convention of the right of
the child.

• Actively encourage better environmental practices.

• Trade relations, maintaining long-term relations based on
solidarity and mutual respect.
